Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
WanderFree is not a substitute for safe driving, medical judgment, or emergency services. Alertness monitoring can miss signs of drowsiness or produce false alerts. SOS Notify opens a pre-filled message or call for you to send — it does not transmit anything without you (or someone in the vehicle) tapping Send or Call. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services directly first.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing, or using WanderFree, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. What WanderFree does
WanderFree is a drowsy-driving companion for iPhone. It monitors driver alertness in real time using on-device analysis, lets you trigger on-demand dashcam recording, and provides an on-demand SOS flow that can notify your emergency contacts with your location and a live status link.
These features require Camera, Microphone, and Location access — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what each permission is used for. WanderFree does not function without Camera access; Location is only used if you use SOS Notify.
3. Emergency features have real limits
- Alertness detection is based on camera-visible signals (eye closure, head position) and can be wrong in either direction — it may miss real drowsiness or trigger on a false positive.
- Sending an SOS message or placing an emergency call both require a person to tap a system prompt — iOS does not allow any app to send a text message or place a call without that tap. If the driver is fully unresponsive and nobody else is present, neither action may complete.
- The live status page depends on network connectivity and Apple's CloudKit service being available; location and status updates may be delayed or fail to send if the device is offline.
4. Your responsibilities
- You're responsible for using WanderFree in compliance with local laws, including any laws about phone mounting or use while driving.
- You're responsible for keeping your emergency contact list accurate, and for having a reasonable basis to share their phone number through the app for this purpose.
- You should never rely on WanderFree as your only safeguard against drowsy driving — pull over and rest if you feel unsafe to continue.
5. Third-party services
WanderFree relies on Apple frameworks and services — including CloudKit, Messages, and Maps — to provide dashcam sharing, SOS notifications, and location links. Your use of those underlying services is also subject to Apple's own terms.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
WanderFree is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WanderFree and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any failure of alertness detection or emergency notification to prevent harm.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use WanderFree after an update means you accept the revised terms.
9. Contact
